The AVP Global Infrastructure Architecture is responsible for providing leadership and direction on IT Infrastructure and IT Security architecture, design and planning to the IT Infrastructure Architecture team. The AVP will promote team member integrity, ethical compliance and build upon our established culture. The AVP will have contact and interaction with all levels of management and departments across the organization as well as external customers, vendors and/or contractors. There will be a great deal of interaction with senior leaders from all across the organization and on-going collaboration with the ITS leadership team. The role will also analyze the needs of departments and establishes the priorities for network design and implementation based on the continually changing needs of the business. Consults with customers, management, and peers to gain a clear understanding of business needs.


  • Understand, communicate, and commit to the organization's vision, goals, and strategies.
  • Analyze complex issues, apply financial analysis, and use sound judgment to make strategic decisions that balance long and short business goals and objectives.
  • Foster open communication, that welcomes information sharing, seeks input from others and values diverse viewpoints.
  • Build relationships across the organization, while leveraging individual and cultural diversity to assist in achieving business goals and objectives.
  • Work with the VP of IT Security, VP of Infrastructure Solutions and VP of Infrastructure Services to review project requirements, designs, and resources
  • Work closely with the project management and architecture teams
  • Assist SVP in determining the department's annual business plan and setting budgetary requirements.
  • Work with IT and Business Management in development of strategies.
  • Establish relationships with the Software Architecture team for enterprise level planning and design to assist driving projects from solution design to service delivery
  • Simplifies and communicates technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Direct Reports: IT Infrastructure Architect



  • Exhibit in-depth knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions, policies and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of the financial industry and regulatory compliance of applicable state and federal lending laws.
  • Proficient in the use of basic computer functions and Microsoft applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio and UML Design tools
  • Advanced knowledge office automation tools and peripherals.
  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of security systems.


  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
  • Ability to analyze project needs and determine resource needs to meet objectives and solve problems that span multiple environments
  • Excellent planning, organizational, project management, and communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred or equivalent experience required.
  • Microsoft Enterprise Project Management experience preferred.
  • Five plus years work experience in finance, ITS, lending, project management, quality assurance or related industry.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple business units and diverse employee population.
  • Five plus years supervisory experience
