Job Description

Job Duties 
* Support a highly-skilled team of technical network engineers responsible for providing capability management, technical engineering, integration, and troubleshooting services to NETCOM in accordance with (IAW) operational evaluation, and policy development practices from Ft. Huachuca, AZ 
* Responsible for 165 CONUS and OCONUS sites providing predictive analysis for network performance and baseline metrics and troubleshoot identified issues either remotely or on-site 
* Evaluates, develops, and delivers technical input into the systems engineering process and ongoing IT system operations 
* Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation and interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts 
* Oversee the integrity of work performed and associated deliverables 
* Responsible for Early Bird KPI Chart development, JRSS KPI Chart development, New Product development, Network and System architecture reviews and development, White Paper development, JRSS Report development, Database Administration (Access, SQL), Network/System troubleshooting and diagnostics, Firewall Policy Reviews, Network Device Configuration Reviews, NetScout InfiniStream Operating System Installation, Configuration and STIG-ing 
* Analyzes complex information and independently takes appropriate actions to resolve problems 
* Provides engineering guidance to technical staff and establishes effective working relationships with other Government agencies and mission partners 
* Prepares and delivers briefings on complex topics to groups, which may include high-level decision makers 
* Works complex research projects as senior contributors and as part of an integrated research team 
* Designs and delivers solutions through analysis and troubleshooting 
* Assists in conducting technical assessments of security and surveillance equipment


Required Skills
 
* The IT Systems Engineer - Senior possesses knowledge of, and skill in applying: 
?Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans, and system integration plans 
?Analyzes complex information and independently takes appropriate actions to resolve problems 
?Provides engineering guidance to technical staff and establishes effective working relationships with other Government agencies and mission partners 
?Prepares and delivers briefings on complex topics to groups, which may include high-level decision makers 
?Works complex research projects as senior contributors and as part of an integrated research team 
?Designs and delivers solutions through analysis and troubleshooting 
?Assists in conducting technical assessments of security and surveillance equipment 
* Working experience and knowledge in troubleshooting use one or more packet analysis applications: Wireshark, Fluke OptiView XG, NetScout nGenius Performance Manager, NetScout Unified Management Console, NetScout InfiniStream, Riverbed Packet Analyzer 
* Working experience and knowledge in troubleshooting use one or more network and application performance management: , NetScout nGenius Performance Manager, NetScout Unified Management Console, Riverbed AppResponse Xpert, Riverbed Cascade Express 
* Working experience and knowledge in one or more of the following technologies: RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.x and 6.x, MS Windows 7, 8, and 10, MS Windows Server 2008R2, 2012, and 2012R2, Cisco iOS, Juniper OS 
* Working experience and knowledge in virtualization 
* Working experience and knowledge in networking to include one or more of the following: IPv4/IPv6, VLAN, VRF/VPN, MPLS, routing protocols, QoS, NAC/NAP 802.1x, VoIP, Proxy Services, WAN optimizers, SSL accelerators, EoIP, wireless, VTC, remote access, performance and protocol analyzer, load balancer, IPSec 
* Experience with one or more Army Enterprise Tools: MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, MS Center Operations Manager (SCOM), MS Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), MS Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), McAfee Host Base Security System (HBSS), Assured Compiance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Tenable Security Center and Nessus, CA-Spectrum, NeetScout, Arcsight 
* Extensive Network troubleshooting 
* Demonstrates thoroughness and contentious attention to detail 
* Works with clients and customers to assess their requirements, provide information or assistance, explains the scope of available products and services; is committed to quality deliverables 
* Expresses information effectively, listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds professionally 
* Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations and resolve issues 
* High-school diploma or educational equivalent required; diploma from a technical or vocational school or have acquired equivalent military/DoD training 
?Work experience or industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements 
?Five (5) to Eight (8) years of technical support experience with IT Network operations, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support as well as supervisory skills in Network operations, management, and personnel 
* Certifications/Training: 
?Candidate must Maintain DoD 8570.01-M baseline certification(s) at the IAT-II and IAT-III levels 
?Higher certifications that meet IAT III requirements must be approved and verified by management


Desired Skills
 
* DoD Experience - Army NOSC or DISA Experience Preferred 
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred 
* Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) preferred
