Fundamental Components
JOB DESCRIPTION

Leads the Platform Performance and Analytics team responsible for the delivery of high-quality products, services, and leading-edge tools in support of Enterprise objectives. Ownership for a portfolio of products, working across a team of stakeholders, accountable for the effective administration, project management, implementation, and support of those products. Possess knowledge of industry tooling and best practices making recommendations in line with strategic objectives. Responsible for enterprise system capacity planning and performance management of platforms, using tools and knowledge of systems to influence outcomes. Leverages technology to intelligently direct log data where it is needed, identifying opportunities to reduce data duplication and waste. Leverages infrastructure asset and compute data to improve internal Configuration management database, asset management, and enable Machine Learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Stay current with technology trends and emerging leadership practices to effectively manage product portfolio in support of business needs
  • Develop and mentor talent to meet the technology objectives of the organization.
  • Collaborate and drive effective partnerships across the enterprise technology function to maximize alignment, investments, and delivery
  • Create enterprise level roadmaps which identify dependency, synergy and optimization opportunities across programs.
  • Responsible for Capacity Planning. Use capacity planning tool(s) to develop forecasts based on trends and customer input for business demand and functionality.
  • Operate as a strategic leader with an ability to effectively manage a complex portfolio of strategic and tactical challenges.
  • Accountable and responsible for adherence to Problem and Change Management processes including escalation procedures for critical problems.
  • Development of tactical alternatives to address capacity shortfalls due to variances in demand or resource availability.
  • Select, develop and evaluate staff. Determine appropriate staffing levels.
  • Realign organizational structure when appropriate. Ensure appropriate and timely training. Research training opportunities and establish training plans
  • Provide leadership/direction for major projects. Make decisions and is accountable for overall project success. Initiate projects and include them as part of the annual project planning process. Ensure adequate resources are available.
  • Communicate product plans and provide overall direction and department goals for employees.
  • Responsible for Technology Integration. Set direction and standards for implementation of new technology as defined by Aetna Architectural Standards. Align technology currency with business objectives. Select technologies and product sets used within computing environment Vendor Management
  • Participate in the negotiation process with Contract Services to acquire vendor products or service. Monitor vendor activity to ensure service levels are acceptable, taking action when appropriate. Select vendors that provide high-quality products and services that meet Enterprise Utility customer objectives.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc. a plus.

?PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years work experience that reflects a proven track record of leadership and proficiencies in setting direction and/or managing distributed enterprise environments.
  • BA in Information technology, computer science, software and information systems
  • Should possess 10+ years of steady career progression including senior level infrastructure leadership experience .
  • Progressive track record leading change through a rapid period of transformation.
  • Ability to quickly make decisions through a combination of analysis, experience, and judgment.
  • A builder of talent who can empower and motivate teams.
  • Effective operation in matrix environments to develop alignment and maximize collaboration in a successful manner

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
