Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of UX and UI designers, researchers, content strategists, engineers and product managers throughout the design process - from strategy to pixel-perfect design. At each stage, you will advocate for our customers and ensure that the final product meets user needs.


Job Description

As a taxonomist on the CVS Enterprise Information Architecture design team, you will assist in leading the planning, design, implementation, and governance of taxonomies and information architecture for the digital ecosystem of sites and applications at CVS. These sites and apps span multiple portfolios and lines of business including, MinuteClinic®, CVS Pharmacy®, CVS Caremark®, CVS Specialty, Aetna, and connected apps.

You’ll be a member of a small, yet mighty, high-visibility, high-impact team dedicated to improving enterprise initiatives that cut across the customer experience including global navigation, profile, orders, preferences, health portal, and account management. You will partner closely with individuals from across our organization to ensure our digital ecosystem has a robust and logical information organization using industry best practices - with a goal of unifying and clarifying to establish consistency.

We are seeking a well-rounded, inclusive individual who leads through influence to solve complex business challenges on large-scale initiatives while always being an advocate for the user.


Role Responsibilities and Expertise:
Information Architecture / Taxonomies / Content systems

* Be the dedicated taxonomy expert for our digital ecosystem and play a central role in a multi-year, transformational initiative to organize, clarify and unify our digital destinations.
* Co-create, develop and manage site navigation taxonomies that elevate discoverability and content usability best practices for complicated enterprise web and app ecosystems many of which are owned by cross-domain business partners.
* Standardize and improve taxonomy processes for increased consistency, efficiency, and greater speed to market.
* Audit and assess current state scenarios and co-create near and long-term roadmaps for proposed navigation and taxonomy schemas with product and architecture.
* Craft and socialize information architecture and taxonomic diagrams including sitemaps, schematics, journeys, page template layouts (block, ontology), taxonomy classifications, and hierarchy diagrams to model our current and future state structures, systems and ecosystem.
* Collaborate closely with the content strategy, UX, product strategy and search engine optimization teams by leading enterprise brainstorming workshops that explore content and information hierarchies, vocabulary/term standards and metadata design.
* Define and manage a digital taxonomy governance strategy that accounts for pre-existing enterprise taxonomies.

Customer-centric / User Experience / Data-driven

* Evaluate customer experience and define user needs that prioritize diversity through use cases, service blueprints, flow diagrams, journey maps, analytics data, and UX research.
* Comfortable combining and analyzing large volumes of data from analytics tools, the research knowledge base, voice of the customer data insights, and multiple databases.
* Identify requirements through research and analysis of how users consume content through behaviors, preferences, qualitative objectives, and available data.
* Work closely with the user research team to develop and sometimes lead taxonomy-based user experience testing as it relates to the Digital Ecosystem. Facilitate and provide authoritative conclusions and report on results.

Required Qualifications
* 5 years’ experience building and managing complex content taxonomies and information architecture.
* Strong Portfolio demonstrating case studies that include two or more of the following: sitemaps, schematics, journeys, page template layouts (block, ontology), taxonomy classifications, and hierarchy diagrams that model current and future state structures, systems and ecosystem.

* Analytical: Gifted in the synthesis and analysis of complex customer and business problems to drive solutions. Experience making data-driven, customer-centric decisions to define scalable navigation and taxonomy solutions that lead to increased discoverability and customer engagement.
* Committed and Resilient: Cares deeply about getting it right for our customers and business through creative, iterative approaches that solve for technology, team, security, and legal constraints.
* Detail and Big Picture Orientated: Can zoom in and out of a diverse set of criteria to excavate trends and themes and drive clarity.
* Agile: Strong focus on delivering continuous improvement and quality in near and long-term valuable increments.



* Strong experience with Headed and Headless CMS platforms like Adobe AEM, Contentful, Drupal, Wordpress and/or Joomla including templates and functionality.
* Adept at generating, analyzing, and maintaining reports in analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics.
* Skilled at documenting efficient and useful content audits that form the basis of recommendations in relational database tools like AirTable.
* Open to collaborating in real-time with tools like Miro.
* Adept at learning new software and technology to perform the job requirements.

Degree in a discipline like Information Design, Library Science, HCI, User Experience - or - equivalent experience.

A verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
