Software Engineer - Android

Build an integrated platform and underlying products to drive engagement and revolutionize health and wellness. Apply a deep understanding of mobile development and software development to support the design and maintenance of Aetna’s applications/products on mobile platforms using the latest design approaches, technologies, and processes. Responsible for direct product features, key technology choices. Work with modern software development frameworks that deliver world-class digital experiences for the consumer or enterprise spaces. Develop complex systems including requirement analysis, estimation, design, development, and implementation and testing of applications. Utilize code versioning tools including Git, Android development, Kotlin and Java, multithreading programming, CI/CD, etc. Build in test from the start and be responsible for Test Driven Development (TDD) development. Conduct Unit, System, and Integration testing. Responsible for fixing found issues and promoting proper implementation of SAFe process techniques. Work on portfolios of released applications to the Android market and create user experiences within the mobile space. Create software for large audiences and promote proper implementation of Agile processes, techniques, and principles. Conduct the implementation, quality, and operation of large features, such as an epic-level story or multi-sprint feature.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience developing Android apps using Java, Kotlin, C++. Prior experience must include: coding, testing, debugging, and documenting software applications within an Agile development methodology; experience in multi-threaded programming; writing tests using Espresso and Junit; Consuming Restful APIs; conducting requirement analysis, estimation, implementation using tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jira; participating in full SDLC, app signing, publishing, distribution using Google Play store; integrating NDK using C++; connecting IOT devices using Bluetooth LE; and supporting localization for multiple languages.
