JOB DUTIES: Core Systems Engineer with Dana Automotive Systems Group, LLC in Maumee, OH will support the development of mechanical and electrified driveline systems for the Light Vehicle Business Unit. Develop complete driveline systems, subsystems, and components to improve and expand Dana’s product portfolio with a commitment to improving vehicle safety, performance, and fuel economy. Lead the design and development of new and innovative driveline products/systems from concept to production with an emphasis on the electrified product portfolio, including responsibility for delivery of both mechanical and electrical systems. Develop and implement product demonstration strategy, including vehicle-level drive evaluations, with “end game” view of vehicle level attributes, and customer “why buys.” Work in partnership with Program Management, Mechatronics, and other Business Units to align and execute product strategy. Lead generation of all engineering/quality documentation (DFMEA, DVP&R, BD, PD, SDS, Functional Safety, etc.), with an emphasis on a full requirements cascade. Identify competitive benchmarking needs and work in partnership with benchmarking organization to collect required data. Follow Stage Gate development processes to meet project goals, including budget, timing and quality of delivery. Document lessons learned and update OneDana procedures.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field, and at least 3 years of experience in the job offered or at least 3 years of experience with systems engineering and exposure to drivetrain and/or chassis systems that rely on ECU controlled devices. Stated experience must include 3 years of experience in each of the following: vehicle dynamics and vehicle level attributes/target-setting process; applying Systems Engineering Fundamentals (SEF), including creation of all quality documentation, such as DFMEA, BD, PD, IM, DVP&R, SDS, etc.; vehicle control systems, including CAN, strategy, calibration, and software release process; ISO26262/Functional Safety and Requirements management tools, such as Doors, Polarion, VSEM, or Enterprise Architect; and manufacturing of electronic control units (ECUs) and integration into vehicle systems. Stated experience must also include 1 year of experience in vehicle integration and/or ownership of vehicle level attributes and system level requirements.
