Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport seeks motivated Chief Engineer to join their team!

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations of this very busy airport property. Responsibilities include managing Marriott's Energy Conservation & Sustainability program, development of the Engineering Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering, as required for hotel standards.

JOB DUTIES:

    -Inspects and monitors building, equipment and grounds to determine maintenance and preventive maintenance requirements.
    -Prepares and submits cost estimates and repair options including, suggestions as to feasibility, logical solution and actual needs.
    -Contacts vendors, suppliers and equipment technical support departments to ensure best prices, quality and warranties for purchases made
    -Determines project priority and ensures completion of required work in an acceptable and professional manner
    -Requisitions materials, supplies, and equipment, as needed for each project.
    -Mentors, develops, and trains maintenance employees at the property level to be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix issues at the property level.
    -Supervises use of maintenance department space, equipment and materials
    -Maintains records of work accomplished, operating statistics, R&M costs, utilities and preventative maintenance
    -Maintains a secure building as it pertains to lock and key control
    -Maintains property's records of all preventive maintenance programs are followed and modified, as necessary
    -Conducts walk through of each property looking for any repairs that are needed.
    -Ensures that property is operating as efficiently as possible with regards to the energy and utilities usage in the hotel and on the grounds.
    -Follows up to ensures that periodic tests are performed on Fire Alarm/Life Safety System at each property
    -Conducts fire safety training; oversees fire emergency until fire department arrives, coordinates and conducts periodic fire drills
    -Handles emergencies in order to protect our guest and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency
    -Ensures annual backflow testing is complete.
    -Ensures all service contracts are current - bids out as appropriate
    -Ensures annual elevator inspections are completed
    -Ensures all state licenses pertaining to pools, elevator etc. are current and processed in a timely manner
    -Must act as quickly and as responsibly as possible to return the hotel/building/property to its normal operating status
    -Monitors all third party vendors as it relates to property maintenance
    -Monitors pool company to ensure safe chemical levels in pools at all times
    -May be required to operate company vehicles and heavy equipment, as needed
    -Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
    -Any and all duties assigned by management
