To plan, coordinate and control PHS-A Facility Maintenance operations for CDS Inpatient, outpatient and business occupancies. Responsible for the maintenance of all physical facilities, as they currently exist, and providing for an uninterrupted flow of utilities based upon existing design criteria. Responsible for assessment and recommendations for facilities performance reliability including preventative and predictive maintenance and infrastructure replacements. Provides coordination of regulatory compliance activities including life safety and environment of care standards compliance in all facilities.
*Directs and coordinates Facility Maintenance operations at multiple facilities/locations, including Central Delivery System (CDS) facilities.
*Develops a program strategy to establish and implement policies and procedures for operations, including facility maintenance, preventative maintenance.
*Develops, implements and actively manages a program of Infection Control management as it applies to construction and maintenance activities.
Evaluates, maintains and monitors the performance of the PHS Facility Maintenance.
*Interprets and enforces organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
*Establishes and actively manages a program of facility life safety including but not limited to managing and maintaining facility life safety systems and infrastructure (fire and smoke suppression and detection systems , fire/smoke compartmentalization and doors, egress path management, illumination and signage, Documents all Life Safety activities.
*Develops and oversees Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) program to compensate when life safety systems in facilities are compromised or impaired. Documents all ILSM activities.
*Serves as a member of the Environment of Care committee.
*Attends educational forums for healthcare facility operations management.
*Develops and recommends departmental operating budget to ensure that operations are within budget.
*Develops and recommends department budget to ensure consistent and reliable operation of facility equipment.
*Ensures departmental compliance with all PHS policies / regulatory requirements.
*Supports organizational visions, values and strategies.
*In conjunction with other departments, i.e., Safety, Real Estate, and Housekeeping coordinates and monitors construction / renovation activities relative to facility operation / life safety / interim life safety measures.
