* Master Degree

 

 

Other information:
Masters degree in Information Systems or related field required. 8 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree. Minimum of 9 years of increasingly responsible IT management experience, preferably in a medium to large healthcare environment, with a focus on Enterprise-wide system implementations and infrastructure applications management

Experience leading multi-disciplinary leaders including managers and senior managers. Candidate should have experience building strategic infrastructure roadmaps for the technology infrastructure, as well as support the development of application roadmaps that rely on infrastructure guidance. Experience reporting to a CIO or C Suite preferred. Experience managing project and operational budgets of $25MM plus and managing vendor contracts in excess of $5MM desirable. Experience working with and influencing key leaders like CIO, CTO and other technology leaders. Experience working with senior management and physicians, driving infrastructure standardization, adoption and governance. Experience in project management and organizational change management. Experience in developing infrastructure standards for tier one applications in a highly integrated setting across ambulatory and inpatient environments is needed. Experience working with HIEs and clinically integrated networks across different health systems is desirable. Clinical experience highly desirable but not required.

In-depth knowledge of the information technology field and a general working knowledge of all areas of the organization. Strong presentation skills and ability to present complex technology issues in a clear, concise and understandable manner. Understanding and experience with service delivery and process improvement methodologies ITIL, CMMI and SDLC. Provide application domain expertise for the IT Plan, IT Metrics, Staff Planning Allocation, Annual User needs assessments, and application portfolio management.

  

Summary:
The Executive Director of Enterprise Architecture and Engineering is responsible for oversight and management of infrastructure systems design, implementation, and transition to production. Utilizes industry best-practices to ensure maximum availability, stability, and performance at appropriate price-points for mission critical systems. Responsible for assessing, evaluating and recommending existing and new technology solutions meet established standards, ensuring quality in engineering and architecture methodologies in order to provide the best value to the organization.

 

Responsibilities:
*Provides thought leadership and strategic direction, budget management and development, and implementation and maintenance of infrastructure to scale in a service oriented manner. Devises and establishes IT policies and systems to support the implementation of business objectives and strategies. Define and execute operational upgrades for hardware and software platforms or services. Creates and manages IT policies pertaining to forward looking infrastructure and operational investments.
*Key relationships include working closely with the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Officer. Maintains relationships and inter>*Effectively integrates internal and external services to drive outcomes aligned to platform capabilities. Stays current with industry trends regarding sourcing of technologies, suppliers, and partners.\t\t
* Leadership Creating a culture of engaged leadership among the supervisors, managers and senior managers reporting into this role is essential for success. Leadership pipeline and talent developments will be a key measure of success. Ability and desire to influence leaders and peers including CMIO, CNO and hospital administrators.
* Staff Engagement Manage staff in an effective manner hiring, motivation, retention, performance rewards assessments, development corrective actions etc. Assess staffing and skills requirements; establish professional development and training plans; set goals and expectations with team members; provide continuing feedback on performance; perform annual HPP reviews & 360 feedback, as appropriate; hire new technical leadership as needed; participate in the hiring of new employees. Establish metrics for staff engagement.
* Customer Stakeholder Engagement Interacts with IT management, business and clinical professionals on information and computing needs and projects, working in partnership with the IT Business Partners. Responsible for developing and presenting all software related information to executives. Influences up, down and across the organization. Accountable for communications within IS, external to IS, external to PHS, etc.
* Performance Excellence Establish departmental metrics goals and objectives; report department accomplishments and plans on a regular basis. Develop the department operating and capital budgets; perform monthly budget variance analysis; initiate appropriate corrective action when needed to control costs.
* Compliance Excellence - Ensure compliance with all regulatory and security requirements associated with system implementation and ongoing support.
*Operational Excellence - Direct, organize and control the planning, deployment and maintenance of the Presbyterian Healthcare Services enterprise-wide infrastructure systems. Support and comply with IT systems management processes and metrics i.e. problem management, change management, configuration management, escalation management, release management, etc.
