This position will be responsible for managing our team of Systems Engineers across our West Region hospitals (16 hospitals). This position is location independent, but preference will be given to candidates located near our major operations sites in Boston and Dallas or in reasonable proximity to one of the West Region hospitals. The Manager of Systems Engineering is a technical leadership role. In addition to managing a team of Systems Engineers, the focus of this role is the coordination of engineering, design, configuration, implementation, management and support activities for our enterprise servers and backup systems at the Steward Health Care Data Center and Hospital Facilities that comprise Steward Health Care.
This role requires knowledge and working experience of enterprise systems, both physical and virtual servers, in standalone, clustered, converged and hyperconverged configurations. The position will be the technical lead for the modernization of server platforms for highly scalable, highly available with logical and geographical redundancy, cost effective system capacity on demand.
The Manager of Systems Engineering must be able to coordinate resources and activities, effectively communicate and collaborate with their managerial peers in storage engineering, datacenter management, database engineering, disaster recovery, network engineering and operations and other technical managers within the system.
- Education: Four-year college or university program certificate preferred.
- Experience: Five years’ systems experience in an enterprise computing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification/Licensure: Preferred industry certifications related to Server/virtualization
- Software/Hardware: In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Server systems required.
Other: Ability to design and implement storage systems utilizing current industry technology.
