The CCMS Engineering Team supports multiple enterprise applications which leverage several OpenText products to support Content Management throughout Wells Fargo. The Sr. Apps System Engineer acts in the highest level technical role as an individual contributor for these applications. Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding and testing. Leads most complex multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts to ensure the applications are highly available and scalable. Break down complex problems and tasks and distribute to other engineers. Will work with the vendor to solve problems, enhance the products, and determine better ways the products integrate.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 3 + years of Unix or Linux administration experience
  • 7+ years of distributed servers platform experience
  • 7+ years of Content Management Systems experience
  • 5 + years of technical design experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical design: ECM system design, implementation, and support at an enterprise level
  • Ability to identify root-cause issues/improvement opportunities, and design approaches/programs/products to improve overall quality assurance
  • Production support experience in a financial services company
  • Ability to identify and manage complex issues and negotiate solutions within a geographically dispersed organization
  • Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
  • 5+ years of application production support experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Opentext: Content Server, Appworks, and/or Web Experience Management.
  • Troubleshooting experience with J2EE application stacks including Apache, Tomcat, Websphere, F5, REST, Oracle, Linux
  • SQL query experience, Performance monitoring tools experience
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring tools & their application (AppDynamics, Geneos, Splunk, NetCool etc.)
  • Awareness & knowledge of BAR tools (Jenkins, uDeploy etc.)
  • Experience in leveraging automation to making applications more resilient/available, ongoing operations more intelligent, self-healing and optimized.
  • Strong desire for exploring, evaluating and understanding new technologies.
  • Ability to connect the dots across various technology domains for a complex ecosystem (application stack, infrastructure stack, Network, NAS, DB, LDAP & integrated partner systems), across upstream architecture/design and operational considerations to help with solutions, troubleshoot issues and guide teams.
  • Ability to multi-task between various productions issues, root cause analysis, project deliverables
  • Strong knowledge & attitude for usage of collaborative tools like JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint to drive collaborative dialogue across cross functional highly distributed virtual teams. Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery, Application Resiliency/Highly Available Architecture, Site Resiliency
