Wells Fargo Technology sets IT strategy; enhances the design, development, and operations of our systems; optimizes the Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; provides information security; and enables continuous banking access through in-store, online, ATM, and other channels to Wells Fargo’s more than 70 million global customers.

The Innovation Team is seeking a talented Application System Engineer 4 to help support their application.

Responsibilities Include: Provides technical consultation and support in the development of computer applications and programs. Analyzes business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to complete research and design of emerging technologies. Develops original and/or complex code. Comfortable working on multiple deliverables often with tight deadlines. Leads and/or performs modeling, simulations and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Participates in overall systems testing. Provide technical support, advice, and consultation with the issues relating to supported applications Develops new documentation, participates in the development of department technical procedures and designs user guides. Serves as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting.  Maintain and manage the continuous integration and continuous deployment tools and processes in support of research and development activities Assures quality, security and compliance for supported systems and applications supporting Research Proof of Concepts and building solutions on new technologies

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 2+ years of Hadoop experience
  • 2 + years of Big Data Systems Administration experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience securing IaaS/PaaS private cloud or DevOps environments
  • Knowledge and understanding of firewall and networking
  • Knowledge and understanding of new technologies evaluation and assessment
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in engineering
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Shell, VBScript, or JavaScript
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple source code version control systems in working with branches, tags and labels
  • Ability to translate and present complex technical data across technical and non-technical groups

Job Expectations

  • Ability to work on call as assigned
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays
  • Position Hours: Monday - Friday (as early as 7 am and as late as 6 pm ).
  • Must be able to attend training and off-site office events outside office hours
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
