The Technology Infrastructure Architecture - Analytics and Database Technology Architecture team is seeking a Lead Database Technology Architect. This senior position will be accountable for technology architecture, strategy, and design activities within the analytics domain, and will provide deep technical expertise related to Technology Architecture with a specific focus on Teradata and related analytics and database technologies in support of enterprise critical projects. This position will also provide technical leadership for the Teradata space, including any of the following: mentoring architects on processes or techniques related to design, strategy, communication, setting goals related to technical activities for team members & tracking execution to same, and tracking tasks and deliverables at the team level and reporting on same.

Other responsibilities include:

Acts in a strategic role in the development and maintenance of architectures for a line of business or infrastructure sub-domain that are in compliance with the Enterprise Architecture. Responsible for working on medium to high architectural impact projects, recommending exceptions to the Enterprise Architecture for high level projects, reviewing and approving medium architectural impact designs, communicating the Enterprise Architecture strategy and direction to both management and systems related teams within their line of business or infrastructure subdomain (organizational unit) and directing implementation of the architecture for their organizational unit. Serves as the highest-level technical consultant to internal clients and technical management to ensure conformity with Enterprise Architecture, having expertise across a broad portion of the organizational unit's architecture, or in-depth expertise within a more specific portion of the architecture.



Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of information technology systems design and planning experience; in systems, applications, or architecture
  • 10+ years of database experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive technical skills and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of an entire line of business or infrastructure sub-domain
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience providing technical leadership for small teams.
  • Broad experience across multiple database platforms.
  • Deep experience on the Teradata database platform.
  • Experience with Hadoop: MapR, Hortonworks\Cloudera
  • Deep experience on technologies ancillary to the Teradata ecosystem, including encryption, ETL tools, data virtualization tools, etc.
  • Experience with one or more industry standard HDFS platforms.


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
