It's an exciting time to be a part of Wells Fargo's Network Engineering Services organization. This network automation engineer position will help drive ongoing automation transformation activities supporting configuration/drift management, os/patch management, asset lifecycle management, and reporting. In this role you will be a key contributor to ongoing NetDevOps efforts by working with various network partners to drive positive change using agile and process improvement methodologies. A high level of ownership and accountability will be critical in this role as will problem solving and creativity focused on continuous improvement.

The position will report into the Network Automation manager within the Network Engineering Services organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Requirements gathering, design, development, test, release for automation scripts/processes in Python
  • Creating/modifying operational reports
  • Establishing system / data integrations to enhance existing or establish new processes
  • Utilizing Ansible orchestration and Python scripting to simplify high volume and/or high risk tasks for business partners

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in or in a combination of an enterprise network, network configuration, administration, maintenance, and sustainment of high availability networks
  • 3+ years of advanced scripting experience using Unix Shell Scripting, Perl, Python, Java, or PL-SQL
  • 2+ years of experience developing and using RESTful Application Program Interface (API)
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux OS environment
  • 2+ years of experience with source coding in one or a combination of the following: GitHub, SVN(Subversion), TFVC (Team Foundation Version Control) or TFSGit (Team Foundation Server)

Desired Qualifications

  • A network professional certification; CCNA, CCNP, CCIE ( Cisco Certified Network Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Professional, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE))
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business partners and project managers
  • Ability to identify key issues, involve affected parties, design solutions, obtain buy-in, and communicate effectively through resolution
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Ability to manage initiatives including: detailed planning, process management, and documentation
  • Experience in problem analysis, solution implementation, and change management
  • 7+years of experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Perl, or KornShell (KSH)
  • 5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • Experience with Ansible automation tool
  • Knowledge and understanding of GitHub
  • Agile experience
  • 3+ years of relational database experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology deployment: guides, configuration scripts, and configuration template development
  • Knowledge and understanding of software defined networking
  • Knowledge and understanding of network automation development through scripting
  • Knowledge and understanding of network management tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of network devices

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with YAML / JINJA templating

Job Expectations

  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
