Wells Fargo Technology sets IT strategy; enhances the design, development, and operations of our systems; optimizes the Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; provides information security; and enables continuous banking access through in-store, online, ATM, and other channels to Wells Fargo’s more than 70 million global customers.

This position is mainly responsible for backup provisioning within Infrastructure Solutions Management. This role demands to provide operational support in pacific time zone (M-F) and weekend on-call on rotation basis, wherein candidate needs to coordinate & collaborate with business partners and stake holders. Develops new documentation, participates in the development of departmental technical procedures and designs user support guides. Consults with management and recommends process and procedure improvements. Act as an escalation point for backup provisioning and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems.

On call rotation:  Every 8 weeks.



Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of operating systems analysis experience, operating systems engineering experience, or a combination of both
  • 5+ years of experience with storage backup software and systems such as NetBackup, Avamar, or Data Domain
  • 2+ years of Windows or Linux scripting experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • IT Infrastructure Library Certification (ITIL)



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience on Veritas NetBackup & Dell EMC Avamar methodologies and best practices.
  • Working ITIL knowledge of incident, problem and change management.
  • NetBackup & Avamar administration
  • Dell EMC Data Domain administration
  • Troubleshooting NetBackup/Avamar  backup failed issues
  • Installing and configuring Veritas NetBackup & Avamar server and clients.
  • Policy auditing (New policy configuration/ modifications).
  • The candidate should  be able to identify automation opportunity in both NetBackup and Avamar Technologies
  • Support on Multiple Operating Systems Windows and Linux/Unix
  • Access configuration and permissions modifications.
  • Backup provisioning for cluster environment
  • NetBackup & Avamar decommission & reclamation from provisioned servers
  • Incident & Change management
  • Emergency backup & restore provisioning
  • Coordination with application and DB teams, and project stakeholders for project planning, approvals and execution
